About Us

The Pelee Club is a nonprofit member-only Club for 25 families and their guests to enjoy pursuing life’s simple pleasures on the secluded Pelee Island in the Canadian waters of Lake Erie. Members enjoy boating, fishing, hunting, biking, birding and, most importantly, spending time connecting on the screened porch with a most peaceful view of the lake. The Island’s quaint character, along with the extensive private grounds of the Club, offers a beautiful retreat and vacation spot.

Many of our members have belonged to the Pelee Club for decades, forming family traditions and lifelong friendships. We welcome all ages, from our most senior member, enjoying his 9th decade of membership, to our young families.

The Club is open from mid-April to late-November annually depending on the ferry schedule. Members are encouraged to bring guests based on availability. Many great family reunions and parties with friends have been held at the Pelee Club.

A typical summer day starts with the House Manager ringing the bell for breakfast at 9am. Coffee is brewing and members meander to the table to enjoy breakfast together discussing the activities for the day. Members often join each other for activities during the day…maybe a fishing trip, a bike ride around the island stopping at Mission Hall and Pelee Artworks, kayaking, searching for beach glass, floating in the lake or just relaxing on the porch with a book (and maybe taking a little nap). Around 6pm members gather on the porch for cocktail hour, sharing stories of their days. About 7pm, the bell will ring, the House Manager will serve dinner and the conversation continues. After dinner, members and their guests may watch the sunset from the porch (every sunset is different!), make a fire and roast s’mores, play pool or ping pong on the antique tables or go out to hear music at a Pelee Island establishment.

The Club hosts members and their guests for the May bird migrations.

The Club also hosts members and their guest for the fall Pheasant hunts.

The Club hosts an annual Walleye tournament and a Canada Day/Fourth of July picnic.
