For years, fishermen who came to Pelee Island were housed in tents. In 1883, Charles Mills of Sandusky and a fellow fisherman from New York, John Maginnis, Jr. decided it was time to form a permanent fishing club, with a permanent club house! A club member (Marshall Field) decided the club was worthy of a first class clubhouse and spared no expense in building it. The site chosen: Sheridan’s Point.
The Pelee clubhouse:
- has dark wood floors,
- high ceilings,
- large fireplaces,
- large dining area,
- WIFI and TV,
- game room, and
- two big screened porches that overlook the bay.
